Linda provided telephone advice and support to help us to feel confident in our birth plan choices. She was very informative and knowledgeable, and supported our wish to have a say in how we were going to approach the home birth we had requested.
She reassured us about what to do if things didn't go to plan, for example to stay at home for as long as possible in the event that the home birth midwives weren't able to reach our remote location in time for the birth.
In the end that was exactly what happened; we welcomed our daughter at the hospital after a short labour at home, and thus managed to avoid the common but unnecessary interventions that frequently happen here, and we had a very easy birth.
